High-Mu Dual Triode
This one is simply one of the Best!
This is the Military version instant replacement for the
12AX7 vacuum tube.
They have the extra support rods as well as 2 Extra thick
mica spacers for superior non-microphonic performance.
This is a 1960's vintage grey plate, gold pin tube.
5751 tubes have identical plate resistances as 12AX7
tubes except the gain is 70. 12AX7 tubes are 100.
The Sylvania Gold Brand 5751 / 12AX7 Vacuum tube is a
miniature type used as a phase inverter and as a high
gain amplifier in industrial control devices.
It is
also used extensively by Audiophiles and Guitarists
because of its superior performance and quietness.
Steve Ray Vaughn preferred 5751 tubes in the first stage
of his amps to achieve a creamier and smoother tone than
with a 12AX7. If your amp has too much gain, the 5751 is
the perfect choice to "calm" the amp down and get more
break-up without all the volume.
It requires a miniature 9-contact socket.
