Beam Power Tube
The GE / General Electric 5881 Vacuum tube is a
glass octal type used in the output stages
of radio receivers and high-fedelity audio amplifiers.
They are also used quite extensively in guitar
amplification. It was built to rigid
military standards and will tolerate higher
voltages than any 6L6. In fact, they're frequently
used as replacements for the old 7027 model in vintage
Ampegs. 5881 tubes require an octal socket.
