Full-Wave Gas Rectifier
It was first developed in 1947
The 0Z4 / 1003 / OZ4 Vacuum tube is a metal type used in
vibrator-type, B-supply units. It is
a cold-cathode type, requires an octal socket and may be
mounted in any position. These tubes were used in many
early automobile radios.
0Z4 and 0Z4G are primarily used for vibrator-type B-supply units of automobile receivers.
They Utilize a starter electrode and an ionically heated cathode. RF filter circuits placed
close to socket terminals are required to reduce rectifier noise. The shells of 0Z4 and external
shields of 0Z4G Tubes should be grounded. They use 30 to 90mA dc current.
0Z4 was re-registered to RCA on Jan. 2, 1961, with minor spec changes.
