High-Mu Triode
The 6F5 Vacuum tube is a metal type used in
resistance-coupled amplifier circuits. This tube requires
an octal socket and may be mounted in any position. It was
first manufactured by RCA in 1937. It was first registered in May 1935 with control grid out from
the octal base, almost a forerunner of 6SF5. On June 18, 1935 the grid connection was moved to
an added top cap and the base diagram was changed accordingly.
